Here are some images of the Mondial Tournianti (international throwing Tournament) and the Argilla (clay) Festival which takes over the Italian town of Faenza.
The tournament consists of 3 parts: Aesthetics, Tallest Cylinder, Widest Bowl
Each contestant is given 7,8 or 9 kilos of smooth red terra cotta earthenware. The weight is determined each year so as to create a hinderance to strategy. For each of the 3 parts one has 30 minutes to throw, acquiring points for the centimeters each was able to stretch the clay form. The aesthetic part is determined by judges.

The 1st part of the competition is aesthetics. Participants throw for 30 minutes then take the piece to a table for 20 minutes to alter the piece before submitting to the judges.
